The New Film of the Year

I think I've already posted twice so far this year about the best film of 2008. We have another title holder. Lars and the Real Girl was just fantastic. Scenes that you could not divert your eyes from if you tried. It's a funny and tender film and Ryan Gosling is just outstanding as Lars.

Along with his performance in the equally excellent Half Nelson he's fast becoming one of my favourite actors. He brings warmth, sensitivity and vulnerability to his character and helps you forget that the woman he's in love with is actually a doll.
