How Old is Mae West?
I spent this evening at the Theatre Royal watching the stage version of The 39 Steps. I have to say it was a fantastic production, very, very funny.
It follows the script of the Hitchcock film version pretty closely, but the comic techniques used in staging makes it a real hoot. Lots of deliberate mistakes and knowingly pathetic attempts to recreate spectacular moments jolly the show along. There are many fun uses of silhouette too.
The cast are extremely impressive with the 4 actors playing 139 roles between them. It runs until Saturday and is well worth going to see.
