Today has been declared John Peel Day. The anniversary of his last ever radio broadcast. This is a really good article by Ryan Gilbey who has worked on completing Peel's autobiography. You can pre-order the book, Margrave of the Marshes, which comes out next week here.More than 300 gigs will be played in the UK today to honour him. There are also John Peel Day shows in Spain, Germany, Italy, the US, Holland, New Zealand and Canada. His former colleague Andy Kershaw however thinks that he wouldn't have liked it.
