The Turbo Dribbler

Well, it's the end of the road for Scotland in terms of World Cup qualification after yesterdays disturbingly Vogts era style performance at Hampden against an injury ravaged but still vastly superior Belarus team.

While the performance and the result were very disappointing, probably dooming us to an even harder group when it comes to qualification for Euro 2008, there have been a lot of encouraging signs since Walter Smith came in.

But I really want to make mention of a player who we have been banging on about for some time here on "...pish", the superb Alexander Hleb.

What a performance from him yesterday - he ran the show from start to finish.

Two footed with great balance, skill and intelligence, I feel the Arsenal star could turn round the London clubs fortunes if he is given the freedom he enjoys in the national set up, instead of being shackled to the right as he often is for Wenger's men.

Although it was obviously a disappointing result, the performance of Hleb was a joy to watch.

It's just a shame that our own great white hope, Barry Ferguson (although he was, to be fair, carrying a slight knock) could come nowhere near Hleb in terms of vision, guts and ability.
