Comics and Literature
Comics are usually Fraser's territory, but I'll wade in here. This is a good post from Graham Linehan on what to say to the Late Review panel on whether comics are 'literature' or not.

Aye, it always astonishes me when these muppets ask questions like "...are comics literature?"
Its a brainless question on so many levels, that at best fails to see what the questioner is actually looking at and at worst is simply a cataloger (or a gatekeeper as Linehan said) seeking to dispense with an an item that wold blur his or her conception of what something is.
The best response to the question is "Who cares?".
I genuinely pity people who don't "get" comics. Comics are a hugely vibrant and exciting medium, crammed full of extremely creative people, working to enormously high standards.
You can do anything in a comic. There are enough indie publishers to ensure you're wacky ideas don't encounter censorship (although that can be a slight problem with the big boy publishers, but not so much as you might think) and its inexpensive enough to visually outstrip even the most garish CGI fest.
Comics are in a real golden age just now, and those who would dismiss the medium are simply missing out on a wealth of vibrant creativity.
But then what do you expect from folk who show up on Late Review?
Why listen to someone like Tom Paulin, a guy who sells his opinion because no-one is interested in his art?
