“…those who have made mistakes must pay.”

Mistakes. Right.

These are the words of Italian Police Union Secretary Claudio Giardullo on the eve of the trail of 28 Police Officers who brutally knocked fuck out of G8 protesters without provocation or anything like reasonable justification 4 years ago.

Also on trail are 45 other officers, prison wardens and unbelievably, medical staff accused of beating protesters while in custody.

The police claim that they acted after being attacked by stones thrown from a school they then entered. There, they met violent resistance, made arrests and discovered a cache of weapons including Molotov cocktails.

This version of events has already been dismissed as a crock of shit by video evidence filmed during the attack and by an investigation into the events.

Explosive devices were planted by the police after the fact and “weapons” discovered at the scene were in fact tools from a nearby building site.

British journalist Mark Covell was among those attacked by Police at the Armando Diaz School and was literally beaten to within an inch of his life.

He suffered eight broken ribs, a shredded lung and a broken hand. He also lost 10 teeth and needed transfusions because he lost so much blood. The public prosecutors office has described this action as “attempted homicide”.

It is difficult to express the level of disgust I feel for scum who dress up in uniforms, accept the backing and support of a corrupt state and beat innocent people before lying and falsifying evidence in a bid to escape punishment.

I don’t believe in God but part of me wishes there was a hell for sub-human bastards like these to burn in for all eternity.
