The National Post in Canada describes Demetri Martin as like a Far Side comic translated into stand-up. It’s not a bad analogy but Demetri is much more accessible.
"I like fruit baskets because it gives you the ability to mail someone a piece of fruit without appearing insane. Like, if someone just mailed you an apple you'd be like, 'Huh? What the hell is this?' But if it's in a fruit basket you're like, 'This is nice!'"

Very interesting analogy. Yes, he is more accesible. Actually I'm surprised he gets so much alterna-love considering his act has punchlines. Still I think he's great
