In a typically thin and pointless article by Paul Wilson of the Observer, he labours to the conclusion that England failed in the World Cup because the team are a bunch of big-heads, refuting the notion that it's because the Premiership isn’t all that great.
He attempts to make his point thus:
“In which case, just one question. How come Thierry Henry, William Gallas, Claude Makelele and Patrick Vieira are all appearing in the final?”
Yeah, one word mate, Zidane.
France would never have made the final without Zizou and oh, Patrick Vieira plays in Serie A.
This is the kind of space filling puff piece that really gets my goat, chiefly because I could easily knock out rubbish like this, and for a lot less than an Observer journalists salary.
