I went to see Dave Chappelle’s Block Party last night. The story of the block party Chappelle threw in Brooklyn in September 2004.Directed by Michel Gondry it’s half a concert film and half a documentary that follows fans, acts and a brass band that Chappelle asks to play just by coming across them in the street.
Chappelle himself is very funny throughout the film and there are a few in jokes for fans of Chappelle’s Show.
The music is also excellent with the acts on show including Kanye West, Jill Scott, Mos Def and the reunion of The Fugees.
It’s worth going to see if you like Chappelle, Hip-Hop or even just comedy and music.
